Israeli Ministry Of Defense behind sale of spyware, which hacked iPhone, to Arab countries 

About a fortnight ago, Apple issued an important update to its iPhones after an attempt to hack into the phone of a civil rights activist in the Persian Gulf. The break-in was executed using the Pegasus spyware of an Israeli company called NSO.

We now uncovered that the Israeli Defense Ministry has licensed the sale of that spyware to Arab countries (not necessarily democratic), despite the strong internal criticism that was voiced in real time against the move, both because of the danger to Israel military secrets and because of the fears of some officials in the Israeli Foreign Ministry that Israel’s name would be caught up in oppressive measures taken by totalitarian regimes.
